Operation Silent Dagger
BRITISH ARMED FORCES – SPECIAL AIR SERVICE
OPERATIONAL REPORT
OPERATION NAME: Silent Dagger
OPERATION TYPE: Covert Extraction
LOCATION: Coastal Region, Latakia Province, Syrian Arab Republic
DATE: 13 - 15 June 2023
CLASSIFICATION: TOP SECRET
MISSION OBJECTIVE
Extract High-Value Individual (HVI - Codename: Oracle) from hostile-controlled territory along the Syrian coast. Oracle possessed actionable intelligence on emergent regional paramilitary factions.
MISSION TIMELINE
- 13 June 2023, 22:00: Insertion of SAS Regiment Zulu-4 via covert maritime approach.
- 14 June 2023, 18:00: HVI secured without incident.
- 14 June 2023, 22:00: Arrival at Safehouse Delta Echo-7.
- 15 June 2023, 05:00: Scheduled extraction via aerial QRF.
Note: 14 June marked the Full Moon phase over Latakia Province.
INCIDENT REPORT
- 14 June 2023, 23:47: Safehouse perimeter breached by hostile force.
- Hostiles demonstrated highly coordinated breach tactics, accompanied by reports of auditory distortions and visual obscuration inconsistent with standard warfare methods.
- The situation rapidly deteriorated under intense and sustained enemy aggression. During this period, Sgt. Sean Evans was separated briefly from the squad. Upon his re-emergence, the tide of engagement shifted unexpectedly.
- Surviving members report an unidentifiable large bipedal combatant engaging and eliminating multiple hostiles with extreme force. Autopsies of recovered enemy bodies display trauma inconsistent with known human or animal attack patterns—notably, massive tissue rupture, bone pulverization, and claw-like lacerations.
- HVI was neutralized by hostiles during initial breach.
- Regiment Zulu-4 suffered 8 KIA.
Sgt. Evans subsequently regained command, recovering the three surviving squadmates and directing an evasive maneuver to an alternate extraction point.
05:12: Emergency extraction completed via QRF.
POST-OP OBSERVATIONS
Medical and psychological debriefs of the survivors include consistent yet inexplicable testimony regarding the unknown combatant. Additionally, atmospheric anomalies recorded during engagement include:
- Disruptive electromagnetic readings.
- Unexplained howling sounds captured on helmet comms, originating from within engagement perimeter.
- Blood spatter and tissue samples bearing non-human DNA markers (currently under analysis by Defence Science & Technology Laboratory - DSTL).
Following post-mission investigation and internal inquiry, Sgt. Sean Evans was flagged for anomalous physical readings and unaccounted gaps in operational memory.
Citing Clause A.7 - Paranormal Contamination Risk, Sgt. Evans was formally discharged under Operational Integrity Compromise despite commendation for valor. He remains under MoD Special Monitoring Directive.
